Mainly, the system consists of integrated hardware and software components for sputum smear slides feeding, controlling and carrying out microscopic and image processing functions of the system. The MIS is used to distinguish TB positive and negative cases. The hardware system and controlling mechanism of MIS are discussed. Algorithms for focusing of the microscope and image processing are presented. Experiments are carried out to evaluate the proposed automated microscopic imaging system

This paper propose a novel concept of a micro motor using kink actuators and reciprocating rack and pinion assembly. Design details of the reciprocating rack and pinion is discussed in the paper. A detailed analysis of structural, transient, thermal, electrical properties was performed using the COMSOL software is also discussed. Finally a fabrication method is purposed using electron beam lithography and ultraviolet lithography.
